Tabnak – As different domestic and international forces continue their campaigns against ISIS terrorists in Syria, reports published by the local sources indicate that the Syrian army has had the most successful operations during the recent days. Dayr al-Zawr, Homs and Aleppo are the places in which recent Syrian army operations have taken place.

Press TV reports that Syrian army forces, supported by allied fighters, have reportedly managed to advance on the ISIS-held eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr for the first time since 2014 days after an Iranian missile strike against terrorist positions there.

Backed by pro-government forces, "the Syrian army entered Dayr al-Zawr Province from the southeast, near the Iraqi border,” the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Friday.

SOHR Head Rami Abdel Rahman noted that the Syrian forces had advanced eight kilometers into the province and were just 12 kilometers from the key T2 oil pump. The Syrian forces now control part of Dayr al-Zawr city and a nearby military airport, but ISIS is in control of most of the provincial capital.

In another development, members of a terrorist group tried to penetrate into an army military position East of the village of Um al-Tababir from the direction of the village of Jabajeb in the Eastern countryside of Homs. However, an army report said all the terrorists were killed.

Elsewhere, several terrorists were killed and wounded in separate clashes with the Syrian army troops in Northern Homs. In a relevant development earlier on Friday, the Syrian army continued its military operations in Homs, and took control of more strategic regions in the province. The army units captured Zahr Abah region East of Arak village, some 10 kilometers to the East of Homs.

Some other clashes also happened recently in Aleppo. The terrorists attacked the Syrian army's military positions from the direction of al-Qiqan region towards the military positions in Assan and Ain Assan in Southern Aleppo. The Syrian army killed 10 terrorists and destroyed their military vehicles in the battle which lasted four hours.

In a relevant development last Monday, the Syrian Army troops continued to storm ISIS’ defense lines in Eastern and Southeastern Aleppo and managed to advance towards Ithriya region in Northeastern Hama to reinvigorate Aleppo province's security.

Together with the domestic forces, especially the Syrian army, international forces have also been active fighting the terrorists in Syria. In this vein, two Russian Navy frigates and a submarine fired six Kalibr cruise missiles on ISIS’ targets in Syria, the country's defense ministry said.

The missiles were launched from Russian Navy frigates, the Admiral Essen and the Admiral Grigorovich, as well as a submarine, the Krasnodar, from the Eastern Mediterranean, the Defense Ministry said in a Friday statement. Militants who survived the attack were later killed in airstrikes.

Also last week, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) pounded ISIS headquarters in Dayr al-Zawr with six medium-range ballistic missiles fired from western Iran.

The missile attack killed more than 170 Takfiri terrorists and inflicted heavy damage on their equipment and systems, the IRGC said in statement. The strike was conducted in retaliation for the June 7 terror attacks in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
